    Sponsor a Hurricane Sandy Family

Due to the devastating loss the East Coast has experienced due to Hurricane Sandy, it was time to put my blogging network to a good cause. As I was sitting in the comfort of my home, people were losing everything to this storm. It’s hard to sit by and not at least try to help.

Instead of hosting a huge sponsored giveaway to gain some followers, my heart knew this was not with keeping the Holiday Spirit. Instead, I’m reaching out to get sponsors to send items to a family who has lost everything. There is a family from Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey who has lost it all: Danny, Nicole, and  7 year old daughter Victoria.

There are many ways YOU can help! Gift Cards: Target, Walmart, Shutterfly, Amazon, Paypal, even in small amounts, $5 can make a big difference. You can send gifts, homemade gifts, if you have an Etsy shop and have something you can send, that would be great, toys for their daughter, anything for the home: candles, personal hygiene products, old cameras, or picture frames. Honestly, anything goes. Even a card to say you care! They’ve lost everything.

Item’s can be sent directly to them, I am only trying to raise some awareness and help a family in need. If you are interested in helping, please contact me at IrishItalianBlessings at gmail dot com.

If you know someone or a company who can help or can donate, please pass along the information and have them contact me.

As a thank you to all the bloggers who are willing to participate:

    • I will offer 1 month of large advertising on my blog -AND-
    • Each Participating Blogger will be entered to win a prize pack of goodies from me: including Essie Polish, iPhone Cases, Lush and more!

I understand many people have different ways of helping in times of need and thank you for even considering the opportunity to help. If you can’t help with a contribution, help by sharing this drive with your social  network to help spread the word.

    Thank you all!
    Blessings,
    Katherine

    Scrapbook Paper Flower Ornaments Tutorial

As I’ve already said, I’m a Christmas Freak and I’ve really opened up my inner craftiness so….another ornament tutorial, yes, yes it is! Hope you like it!
A few years back I saw these Scrapbook Paper Flower Ornaments and I LOVED them. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to re-create them but I did it.
I have a thing about glitter so I chose some paper with glitter, lots and lots of glitter.
I used a paper cutter to cut the paper into 2 inch wide, 6 inch long strips. I’m terrible at freehand cutting or drawing, or just about anything.
This is literally the only scrapbook tool I own…LIFESAVER!
You need ten strips for 1 flower
(Sorry for the mismatching paper on the tutorial, I forgot to take pictures of every step, I’m new at this :))
Take each strip and bend it into a teardrop shape like this:
Staple the end of each of the teardrops
And YES! Those are PURPLE staples, I like things fancy schmancy!
Next, put the tear drops into a flower shape
Then, I used double sided tape and put it on each piece to attach it to the next “petal”
    Attach all ten “petals” together
Then I put a little round disc in the center of the circle and attached a silver ribbon to hang them and done!
    Here’s a few more pictures
I still can’t decide if I like the solid red or with a splash of green..hmmm decisions decisions

Comfort Zone® with D.A.P. Products for Dogs

This post brought to you by Comfort Zone® products. All opinions are 100% mine.

Like every pet owner, I love my dog. Our adorable English Bulldog, Dozer, is considered our first “son”  and he’s the perfect dog for our family. However, like every dog, he has a few “quirks.” Whenever we have people over, Dozer gets quirky. Friends, family, the poor pizza delivery guy….ok anyone pretty much, he gets nervous, stressed, and excited all at once. He starts to bark, tries to run out the door, and jumps excessively. Being a 65 pound piece of muscle, it can get pretty hard to control him during these unfamiliar situations.

We recently decided on a backyard remodel and I was terrified about how Dozer was going to handle the chaos. Not only would there be strangers at our house daily, but his whole backyard environment was no longer available to him. Nervous doesn’t even begin to describe the feelings I had about Dozer and the remodel. I cannot explain the relief I felt when I heard Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® products were created to help control and relax dogs during these exact types of situations.

Comfort Zone® with D.A.P® products include a Dog Appeasing Pheromone. It was created to help control excessive barking, destructive behaviors like digging and chewing, and it also helps with soiling accidents. Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® helps control these stress related behaviors that are created by changes in their environment…like a backyard remodel with loud noises, but can also help with fireworks, thunderstorms, traveling, or any new transitions that can cause stress on your pup.

I am so impressed with the effectiveness of Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® products. I simply plugged the diffuser into an outlet and let it work its magic. I used an outlet higher up in the house so the kids couldn’t reach it, and the product worked fine further away from Dozer, so it didn’t need to be right next to him to work. I have had it for about a month and haven’t had to use a refill yet. It’s just amazing how calm Dozer has become with all the work going on. He’s no longer stressed out when the workers get here and the loud noises don’t have him barking like he used to. See for yourself, this is our happy guy with full construction happening right now, does he look stressed to you? Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® products truly work for us!

Comfort Zone® products are also available for Cats! The products are available at pet specialty stores like PetSmart and Petco, online, and other independent pet stores. A few notes about the product: It’s recommended to allow 90 days to see the full effect in your cat or dog. Follow the instructions in the product insert for detailed usage. If you think your dog or cat is having a medical reaction, please contact your vet before using Comfort Zone® products.
